I hope you can connect and can relate to my story, because few people know exactly what they want to do with their lives. It's a process, a journey and a calling.

5 Ways To Stop Social Media Marketing Burnout

Oh man, this one is a big one for me. The pressure to constantly be posting things; it can totally steal my joy. How do we make social media marketing feel less draining? I mean, we have to be present on social media these days if we want to continue booking clients, right?! What would happen to our businesses if we just stopped posting regularly? It doesn't have to be all or none. And like always, I am sure I can take my own advice on this because sometimes I am not as organized. Curse of the creative I tell you. It's hard to sit down and organize things because I work well in chaos, including a war zone looking desk. I also work well when things are not as chaotic and see the benefit of [...]

Love/Hate Relationship With Being A Working Mom

There are days I thank my lucky stars I’m a working mom. Like those days when my kids wake up on the wrong side of the bed and I hand them over to grandma and say "good luck" as I dash back to my car, running late for my first meeting. But then that same day, I may get a text from grandma with my daughter’s face full of spaghetti and I think about all those sweet moments I’m missing and my heart breaks a little. This is the life of a working mom. It’s up and down, a constant emotional roller coaster. I ride the high of being able to talk to an adult every single day, a luxury many stay at home moms don’t have. I can also eat lunch at my own pace [...]

6 STEPS TO CREATE BANGIN’ TO-DO LISTS (Free Template Included)

When it comes to actually getting work done, my focus can be rather sporadic sometimes. That's why I really need to create simple to-do lists often. I attribute it to #mombrain, because I have about 1/8 of my brain with two children compared to when I was a young single living the dream with little to no responsibility. I will often start answering emails, and then something else I need to do pops into my head and I completely lose focus and jump to another task (that’s how this blog post was made!). When I am about half way through that new task, a completely new to-do pops in my head. It’s really hard not to stray and just start doing something else. It’s like that movie “Up,” where the dog is talking the old man and [...]

5 Steps For Taking Self-Portraits With Your DSLR (VIDEO Included)

One of the saddest parts about being a mom is that I rarely make it into my family photos. Even worse, I'm a photographer so I should have more pictures of myself because I have access to a camera and a lot of photographer friends, but there is always an excuse. I always feel too chubby (especially 3 months after having a 2nd baby!), my hair never does what I want, I can never find the right clothes; there is always SOMETHING. You would think us moms were extinct? Am I right here? Well you know what, there actually is something we CAN and SHOULD do about this. Just get in those pictures moms! Push past how uncomfortable you feel. Your kids want to remember you when they're older, so just let [...]

My Child Is Being a Terror and I Just Need to Finish Responding to Emails

The email struggle is real. I felt like this topic would be a great one to jumpstart our content posting. In fact, as I'm writing this my 2.5 year old is sitting in my lap and crying because she just fell down on a rope feature at this local kid's coffee shop we go to. I'm trying to get work done while she is grabbing at the positive reinforcement fruit snacks in my pocket and bumping me with every move she makes. Sitting on the floor in her carseat is my 3 month old, just chilling out and sleeping with the occasional stir looking for her Wubbanub (best pacifier ever!!). My 2.5 year old just decided she was done sitting in my lap, and is now trying to rock my newborn's carseat with her foot rather [...]

Hi, I’m Ashley (aka The Rad Mommy)

I'm Ashley, Aka The Rad Mommy. No, I am actually not that cool. I'm not a trendsetter; my normal outfits consist of yoga pants and North Face fleeces with little variety. I rarely wear more makeup than a little powder and mascara these days, and I never plan to wear jeans again after having two children because leggings are too comfortable to give up. I do love neon and super colorful things though, so that's a little rad. I live in Colorado beer country, in a not-so-big-not-so-little city named Fort Collins. I have two daughters, a 2.5 year old spunky toddler named Eleanor Quin, and an almost 4 month old named June Dorothy. I want a third baby, but we will see what the future holds. I'm married to a football loving Kansas boy who I [...]
